  • What: Submit children's poetry
  • Prizes: Cash prizes, top prize $500
  • Fee: $15 reading fee, comes with a 6 month subscription to Children's Book Insider
April 27-May 8  We Need Diverse Books Short Story Contest
  • What: Submit an unpublished short story less than 5000 words for children ages 8-12
  • Who: Diverse writers from diverse backgrounds
  • Prize: $1000 and publication in anthology with well known diverse kidlit authors

April 15-17   IndieReCon 2015  A global conference aimed at providing the best advice and education for independently minded authors. A mix of online workshops, discussions, masterclasses, and live events. A website is coming soon but they are taking proposals for speakers/talks.
