About the author: Andrea Denish is a lifelong resident of Philadelphia, PA and has been an educator for over 25 years, teaching children of all ages in a variety of settings. She currently teaches science to preschoolers and works in the children's department at her local library.

About the illustrator: Guilherme Franco was born in Brazil, home of Carnaval, one of the biggest parades in the world. He lives in São Paulo and also works in the animation and games industry, trying to create meaningful stories.

  1. Parades are fun! I have been playing my flute in our city's Memorial Day parade for a few years now. This year my guess is there won't be a parade. Thank you for the chance to win a copy of this beautiful and fun book.

  3. I would love to read everyone of these delightful sounding books from the joy and excitement of a parade to find out why a character is named Tornado Brain. "By the Book" looks like it might have scenes set in a library.

  4. I like that it cover all different types of parades. This celebration of multiple cultures, ideas and especially LGBTQ+Pride, is important in current times and in showing the similarities in all people.
