April 1 Sparks Anthology Fables contest
- What: Win $500 and publication for a fable, in prose (less than 12,000 words) or poetry (less than 150 words) with a lesson
April 24 Susanna Hill's First Illustrator Contest!
- What: illustrate the book cover of one of the winning fractured fairy tale entries from her last contest and win a portfolio critique from Michael Garland and more prizes ($50 gift certificate to Dick Blick; craft books)
April 4 – May 2 Like a Virgin Pitch Contest
- What: Any YA and NA ms that has not previously been entered into a pitch contest. First 50 qualifying pitches will be accepted 1st come 1st served by entering at lvcon14 (at) gmail dot com. Five authors will pick their top 2 pitches to move onto the agent round.
- When: Opens April 4th at 6 am EST

Both winning stories will be published by Clavis Publishers as illustrated children's books in Dutch and English.”
