  • Prize: 20 entries will be chosen to be posted for agents' perusal
Oct. 30 PreK Writing Contest
  • What: Submit an unpublished animal story geared to children ages 1-4 fewer than 500 words
  • Prizes: $650 1st place; $350 2nd place; $100 for 3rd, 4th, 5th places
  • Fee: reading fee of $19 per entry
Nov. 1   SCBWI British Isles Slush Pile Challenge
  • What: submit a synopsis and up to 750 word excerpt of a work for children (any age) highlighting a distinctive voice
  • Who: unagented SCBWI members, resident of UK
  • Judge: Amber Caraveo, Skylark Literary Agency
  • Prize: 30 minute consultation

  • What: pitch your kid lit work, note new rules
  • Prize: agent requests for your work
